FAQ's

  • Who is this course for?

This course is designed for anyone over the age of 8 (or year 3 in Primary School) and is suitable for children and adults alike. It is no secret that music lessons can get expensive. A weekly lesson with a qualified specialist is a fabulous experience for anyone that wants to learn an instrument but this is not an option for everyone. Perhaps the lessons are too expensive. Perhaps attending weekly lessons at a fixed time doesn’t suit your schedule. Maybe you are unable to leave your house. I hope that with Woodwind Whizz you can learn to play the clarinet at a pace and in a way that suits you.

  • How is the course structured?

The beginner’s course has been divided into 2 parts. Part 1 consists of two lessons and this is included free. In this section you will find lots of information about getting started including choosing an instrument, reeds, accessories and components of a clarinet. You will learn to put the clarinet together, play your first three notes, learn some basic music theory and play a few short tunes.

  • What are the requirements of the course?

In order to do this course, you will need a B flat clarinet and some reeds. There are lots of other accessories you can buy (or put on your Christmas wish list!) but these are optional extras. In part one you will find more information about this including guidance on getting a clarinet.
